Weekend Recap at Paul Ricard!

This weekend was a real challenge for Volcano Motorsport in the GT Open Cup in Paul Ricard. Despite all our efforts to find the perfect setup, we couldn’t fully take advantage of it. We started with a very hot weather and ended with storm and heavy rain, which required a lot of adaptation from the team and our driver. Evgenii Leonov had the following results: - Q1: 11th place - R1: 7th place - Q2: 13th place - R2: 12th place In the first Qualy we were not happy with the sent up and behaviour of the car. In the first Race Evgenii had a good pase in the first part of the race and overtook many cars. He was a bit slower in the second part. In the second Qualy Evgenii was blocked by a much slower competitor and suffered some slight damage in the contact whilst trying to make and overtake. After visit to the pits he was not unable to get many attempts as the tires were not in the optimal temperature. During the second Race, storm and heavy rain hit the track. Evgenii doesn’t have much experience driving in these conditions, which affected his performance. Overtaking and fast lap times were quite difficult to achieve with heavy rain and poor visibility. We thank everyone for their support and will keep working to improve our results. The next race will bring new challenges and new opportunities!
